At the top of the village; with a stunning view over the whole village and coastline; lies the ruins of Pitsligo Castle. This is open to explore at any time and no fees apply. The castle dates from 1424 when it was originally built by the Frasers of Philorth.

One of several courses in the area; enjoy a scenic and rewarding game of golf on Rosehearty's coastal golf course; located directly across from the Masons Arms hotel. This course can be played as either a 9 or 18 hole course and boasts spectacular views as well as an accommodating mix of challenging and enjoyable holes. This course is suitable for all ages and discounts on the playing fees are available to our guests at the hotel.

Accredited as one of the most unique picnic spots in the UK; The Mounthooly Doocot (Dovecoate) lies one mile south of Rosehearty. It was built around 1800 by Lord Garden when he bought the Pitsligo estate. There's a small car park and picnic benches with panoramic views down over Rosehearty.
